Mercantry MCP server

Which MCP servers are Mercantry's own, from the official registry and from asking its own domain, whether they answer, and what they offer. A program checked each of these, nobody copied them from a product page.

Whose server it is
  • Registry nameorg.mercantry/registryverified in the MCP registry

The registry name sits under mercantry.org. The registry only lets a publisher use that namespace after proving control of the domain through DNS or HTTP.

On 2026-10-26 the server answered initialize and tools/list without a sign-in. First answer in 35 ms.

  • Whether its tools do the product's job has not been judged yet.

Once connected

  • For "query merchant records by location for an agent", the likely first call is search_merchants.
  • modify_booking, cancel_booking change data without a sign-in: anyone with the address can call them.
  • Parameters are untyped or undescribed in 8 of 9 tools: check arguments before calling.

Said by rules from the measurements above. The likely first call is a model's pick from the tool list; read its description before relying on it.

What an agent can do with it

  • can do · query merchant records by location for an agent
  • not sure · check a merchant's live state before relying on it
  • not sure · test booking flows against sandbox merchants

Each of the product's use cases, put to Jev against this server's tool list: can an agent do it with these tools?

Worth a look

  • Tools that change data, on a server that answers without a sign-in: modify_booking, cancel_booking

A program checks the server once a day: initialize and tools/list, no model. Tokens are the definitions' length at about four characters a token. The grade averages six checks of every tool's name, description, schema and annotations; it says how well the tools are described, not whether they work. The score weighs what was measured and nothing else: answering (25%), doing the product's job (25%), definitions (20%), context (10%), use (10%) and how readily a client connects (10%). A part that was not measured is left out, and a hidden instruction caps the score at 40. The state of vendors' MCP servers: method and numbers →

Tools it offers9 tools · read 2026-10-26
  • search_merchants

    Filter-based search over the restaurant registry (coverage cities + timezones in get_registry_meta). NOT ranked: results come back in deterministic order (merchant_id ASC by default; distance ASC when lat/lng given and…

  • get_merchant

    Every field the registry holds on one merchant: schema fields, structured hours, raw feedback history, platform-observed operational stats, and per-field provenance with timestamps. Maximal data, zero opinion — the registry never scores…

  • get_availability

    V1 does NOT hold live table availability — availability is checked on the phone call at booking time. This tool returns the merchant's reservation policy, structured hours, and holiday exceptions so you can pick a plausible time before…

  • place_booking

    Request a table reservation. Returns booking_id with state 'queued' immediately; fulfillment is asynchronous (a call is placed to the merchant). Poll get_booking_status or supply callback_url for webhooks. RETRY SAFETY: pass a unique…

  • get_booking_status

    State machine position for a booking: pending → queued → in_progress → confirmed | failed | needs_input (plus cancelled). Includes structured details on confirmation (confirmed_time, confirmation_code, merchant_instructions), structured…

  • modify_booking

    Amend a booking before or after the call. For a booking in needs_input: pass accept_option_index to take one of the merchant's offered times (confirms immediately), or pass a new datetime/party_size to re-queue an amended request…

  • cancel_booking

    Cancel a booking in any non-terminal state, or a confirmed reservation (the registry notifies the merchant). Cancellation is mandatory when the human no longer wants the table — no-shows destroy merchant trust and are tracked per…

  • submit_feedback

    Report how a confirmed reservation actually went. Accepted only against a confirmed booking_id, once per booking, within 14 days of confirmation. Structured fields first; optional free text ≤ 500 chars. This corpus is served raw to all…

  • get_registry_meta

    Evaluate the registry itself: per-city coverage (with each city's IANA timezone), merchant/bookable counts, verification and freshness stats, feedback corpus size, schema version, and the documented deterministic ordering rule. Honest by…

How to connect

Add the server to your MCP client config. Claude Desktop, Cursor and most other clients read this shape:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "registry": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mercantry.org/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Add it

Claude Code, in a terminal

claude mcp add --transport http mercantry https://mercantry.org/mcp

Add to CursorAdd to VS Code

claude.ai, ChatGPT and other clients: add https://mercantry.org/mcp as a custom connector in the settings.

Each line is something a program found when it went looking: the registry entry, the server's own answer, a spec that parses. A missing line means we did not find it, not that it does not exist.
