PDFOven MCP server
Which MCP servers are PDFOven's own, from the official registry and from asking its own domain, whether they answer, and what they offer. A program checked each of these, nobody copied them from a product page.

- Registry namecom.pdfoven/pdfovenverified in the MCP registry
The registry name sits under pdfoven.com. The registry only lets a publisher use that namespace after proving control of the domain through DNS or HTTP.

On 2026-10-28 the server answered initialize and tools/list without a sign-in. First answer in 116 ms.
- Its tools do every use case we checked: render invoices from a saved template with line items; turn HTML or Markdown reports into printable PDFs; capture a public web page as a PDF or screenshot.
- Checked on 5 of the 7 days it takes to judge reliability.
Once connected
- For "turn HTML or Markdown reports into printable PDFs", the likely first call is render_pdf.
- For "capture a public web page as a PDF or screenshot", the likely first call is render_pdf.
- create_template, update_template, delete_template change data without a sign-in: anyone with the address can call them.
- Parameters are untyped or undescribed in 4 of 13 tools: check arguments before calling.
Said by rules from the measurements above. The likely first call is a model's pick from the tool list; read its description before relying on it.

Worth a look
- Tools that change data, on a server that answers without a sign-in: create_template, update_template, delete_template
A program checks the server once a day: initialize and tools/list, no model. Tokens are the definitions' length at about four characters a token. The grade averages six checks of every tool's name, description, schema and annotations; it says how well the tools are described, not whether they work. The score weighs what was measured and nothing else: answering (25%), doing the product's job (25%), definitions (20%), context (10%), use (10%) and how readily a client connects (10%). A part that was not measured is left out, and a hidden instruction caps the score at 40. The state of vendors' MCP servers: method and numbers →
render_pdfRender a PDF from exactly one source: html, markdown, url, template (+data) or template_id (+data). Returns the PDF as a base64 embedded resource. Each successful call uses one render from the account's monthly quota; nothing is stored…
render_imageRender a PNG image from exactly one source: html, markdown, url (a website screenshot), template (+data) or template_id (+data). Built-in 1200x630 social cards: tpl_og_article, tpl_og_product and tpl_og_announcement. Returns the image…
merge_pdfsJoin 2-50 PDFs into one, in order, optionally picking pages from each. Returns the merged PDF as a base64 resource. Uses one render from the monthly quota.
split_pdfSplit a PDF. Send pages to extract one PDF, ranges for one PDF per range (returned as a zip), or every to split into chunks of N pages. Uses one render.
compress_pdfMake a PDF smaller by recompressing and downscaling large images and cleaning unused data. Returns the original unchanged if it can't be made smaller. Uses one render.
watermark_pdfStamp text (Latin characters) or a PNG/JPEG image onto a PDF's pages: centred and diagonal, tiled, or in a corner. Uses one render.
list_pdf_form_fieldsList a fillable PDF's form fields: name, type, current value, options and page. Use the names with fill_pdf_form. Does not use render quota.
fill_pdf_formFill a PDF form's fields by name (text, checkboxes as true/false, radio and dropdown options) and optionally flatten it so it can't be edited. Unknown field names are an error with suggestions. Uses one render.
list_templatesList every template saved in the PDFOven account, newest first, as JSON with id, name, engine and sample_data. Use an id with render_pdf/render_image (template_id) or get_template. Does not use render quota.
get_templateFetch one saved template in full: content, css, sample_data and page_options. Use it before update_template to see the current body. Does not use render quota.
create_templateSave a new reusable template to the account and return its id. Templates are capped per plan (Free 3); at the cap this returns a tool error. Render it later with render_pdf or render_image and template_id plus data.
update_templateChange a saved template. Only the fields you pass are replaced; others keep their current values. Future renders with this template_id use the new version immediately.
delete_templatePermanently delete a saved template. This cannot be undone, and renders that reference its template_id will fail afterwards. Confirm with the user first.
How to connect
Add the server to your MCP client config. Claude Desktop, Cursor and most other clients read this shape:
{
"mcpServers": {
"pdfoven": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://pdfoven.com/mcp"
}
}
}Add it
Claude Code, in a terminal
claude mcp add --transport http pdfoven https://pdfoven.com/mcpclaude.ai, ChatGPT and other clients: add https://pdfoven.com/mcp as a custom connector in the settings.

Each line is something a program found when it went looking: the registry entry, the server's own answer, a spec that parses. A missing line means we did not find it, not that it does not exist.
