SocialCTL MCP server

Which MCP servers are SocialCTL's own, from the official registry and from asking its own domain, whether they answer, and what they offer. A program checked each of these, nobody copied them from a product page.

Whose server it is
  • Addresshttps://mcp.socialctl.io/mcpnot in the official registry: answered when asked

No entry in the official MCP registry names this server. It answered on socialctl.io when the Atlas asked at the address servers are usually mounted on, so it is the vendor's own. Clients and catalogues that list servers from the registry do not show it.

Said by rules from the measurements above. The likely first call is a model's pick from the tool list; read its description before relying on it.

Worth a look

  • Tools that change data, on a server that answers without a sign-in: create_composition, edit_composition, set_music, set_speech, cancel_render

A program checks the server once a day: initialize and tools/list, no model. Tokens are the definitions' length at about four characters a token. The grade averages six checks of every tool's name, description, schema and annotations; it says how well the tools are described, not whether they work. The score weighs what was measured and nothing else: answering (25%), doing the product's job (25%), definitions (20%), context (10%), use (10%) and how readily a client connects (10%). A part that was not measured is left out, and a hidden instruction caps the score at 40. The state of vendors' MCP servers: method and numbers →

Tools it offers19 tools · read 2026-10-27
  • health

    Ping the reel-tool API to confirm it is reachable. Use this first if other tools fail.

  • create_composition

    Create a new video composition by submitting a Remotion Composition.tsx as raw text. Returns: jobId, detected specs, previewUrl, editUrl (open in browser to keep editing), historyId (auto-saved). READ FIRST: `compose://house-rules`…

  • get_composition

    Get the current state of a composition job: status, specs, asset prefetch results, music & speech URLs.

  • inspect_text

    Return the static editable strings detected in a composition (JSX text + recognized text-y string props), grouped by scene with line numbers.

  • inspect_scenes

    List every <Sequence> scene in the composition with its index, line, durationInFrames, from, and number of media tags inside.

  • apply_edits

    Apply a batch of text/asset replacements and/or scene operations atomically. Returns the modified TSX and totalFrameSavings (frames cut by scene speed/delete). Workflow: call inspect_text or inspect_scenes first → get ids/indexes → pass…

  • patch_composition

    PATCH an existing composition's TSX in place — like Cursor's apply: the job's source file is rewritten on disk, the preview bundle is recompiled, specs are re-detected, new asset URLs are prefetched. The SAME jobId continues to work…

  • edit_composition

    MODIFY an existing composition without regenerating it from scratch. Use this whenever the user provides a job id, history id, or asks for changes to an existing reel ('change the text in scene 2 to X', 'replace the music', 'make scene 3…

  • set_music

    Attach background music to a job (plays for the full composition, both preview and render). Pass a direct audio URL (mp3/wav/ogg) or null to clear. Music is auto-ducked to volume 0.6 when speech is also set so the voiceover stays audible…

  • list_voices

    List the TTS voices available from the configured provider (Gemini AI Studio or whichever is set in TTS_PROVIDER).

  • generate_speech

    Generate speech audio from a transcript via Gemini TTS (or whichever provider is configured). Returns a public URL pointing at the WAV file. Pair with set_speech to attach it to a job. Read `compose://voices` for the full voice picker +…

  • set_speech

    Attach a speech / voiceover URL to a job. Plays alongside any music. Pass null to remove. Most callers will pass the url returned by generate_speech.

  • start_render

    Enqueue an MP4 render for a job. Returns a ticketId, jobId, and editUrl. Poll get_render_status with the ticketId until status is 'done', then read downloadUrl. Preset choice: • draft — fast/lossy. For quick visual checks while iterating…

  • get_render_status

    Look up a queued or rendering ticket. When status is 'done', the response includes a downloadUrl for the MP4.

  • cancel_render

    Cancel a queued or actively rendering ticket.

  • list_saved_compositions

    List compositions previously saved to the on-disk history (data/history). Each entry has an id you can pass to load_saved_composition.

  • save_composition

    Save a TSX source under a name in the on-disk history.

  • load_saved_composition

    Load a saved composition's TSX by id. Pair with create_composition to produce a fresh job.

  • list_completed_renders

    List MP4 files persisted under data/renders. Each entry has an id; downloadUrl can be derived from get_render_status when the render finishes.

How to connect

Add the server to your MCP client config. Claude Desktop, Cursor and most other clients read this shape:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "socialctl": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.socialctl.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Add it

Claude Code, in a terminal

claude mcp add --transport http socialctl https://mcp.socialctl.io/mcp

Add to CursorAdd to VS Code

claude.ai, ChatGPT and other clients: add https://mcp.socialctl.io/mcp as a custom connector in the settings.

Each line is something a program found when it went looking: the registry entry, the server's own answer, a spec that parses. A missing line means we did not find it, not that it does not exist.
