Urantia MCP server
Which MCP servers are Urantia's own, from the official registry and from asking its own domain, whether they answer, and what they offer. A program checked each of these, nobody copied them from a product page.

- Registry namedev.urantia/urantia-papersverified in the MCP registry
The registry name sits under urantia.dev. The registry only lets a publisher use that namespace after proving control of the domain through DNS or HTTP.

On 2026-10-26 the server answered initialize and tools/list without a sign-in. First answer in 846 ms.
- Its tools do every use case we checked: find passages by keyword or by meaning; let an AI agent look up and follow paragraphs; generate APA or BibTeX citations for passages.
- Checked on 3 of the 7 days it takes to judge reliability.
Once connected
- For "find passages by keyword or by meaning", the likely first call is search.fulltext.
- For "generate APA or BibTeX citations for passages", the likely first call is cite.get.
Said by rules from the measurements above. The likely first call is a model's pick from the tool list; read its description before relying on it.

Each of the product's use cases, put to Jev against this server's tool list: can an agent do it with these tools?
Worth a look
None of the five warning signs in these definitions.
A program checks the server once a day: initialize and tools/list, no model. Tokens are the definitions' length at about four characters a token. The grade averages six checks of every tool's name, description, schema and annotations; it says how well the tools are described, not whether they work. The score weighs what was measured and nothing else: answering (25%), doing the product's job (25%), definitions (20%), context (10%), use (10%) and how readily a client connects (10%). A part that was not measured is left out, and a hidden instruction caps the score at 40. The state of vendors' MCP servers: method and numbers →

paragraphs.randomGet a random paragraph from the Urantia Papers. Great for daily quotes, exploration, or discovering new passages.
paragraphs.getLook up a specific paragraph by reference. Supports three formats: globalId ("1:2.0.1"), standardReferenceId ("2:0.1"), or paperSectionParagraphId ("2.0.1"). The format is auto-detected.
paragraphs.contextGet a paragraph with surrounding context (N paragraphs before and after within the same paper). Useful for understanding passages in context.
search.fulltextKeyword search across all paragraphs of the Urantia Papers. Mode "auto" (default): a reference such as "68:6.3", "103:2", "Paper 68", or a bare number such as "68" (0 to 196) gives those paragraphs; otherwise the exact phrase first, then…
search.semanticSearch the Urantia Papers using semantic similarity (vector embeddings). Returns conceptually related results even without exact keyword matches. A reference such as "99:1.1" gives those paragraphs; a pasted paragraph gives itself first…
entities.listBrowse the entity catalog: beings, places, orders, races, religions, and concepts mentioned in the Urantia Papers. Supports filtering by type and searching by name.
entities.getGet detailed information about a specific entity by its slug ID. Returns name, type, aliases, description, related entities, and citation count.

bible.search.semanticFree-form natural-language search across all Bible chunks, ranked by cosine similarity. Each result includes the top-N pre-computed Urantia paragraphs related to that chunk. One query surfaces both Bible matches and the relevant Urantia…
works.listThe works beside the Urantia Papers: the Bible (World English Bible) and 21 texts of the world's religions and traditions, each in the US public domain. `id` is what the other works.* tools take ("bible" or a slug such as "dhammapada")…
works.searchKeyword search across the Bible and the other works, or one work with `work`. A reference such as "John 3:16", "Jn 3:16-18", "Dhp 183", or "BG 2.47" gives those units first. Otherwise the exact phrase first, then every word, then (when…
works.search.semanticNatural-language search across the Bible and the other works, or one work with `work`. The list holds the 100 nearest chunks (a few verses each); each has `similarity` and `strength` (strong, related, weak), and `meta.total` is the length…

How to connect
Add the server to your MCP client config. Claude Desktop, Cursor and most other clients read this shape:

"mcpServers": {
"urantia-papers": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://api.urantia.dev/mcp"
}
}
}Add it
Claude Code, in a terminal
claude mcp add --transport http urantia https://api.urantia.dev/mcpclaude.ai, ChatGPT and other clients: add https://api.urantia.dev/mcp as a custom connector in the settings.
Each line is something a program found when it went looking: the registry entry, the server's own answer, a spec that parses. A missing line means we did not find it, not that it does not exist.
